10 Best Indoor Activities in Boise

Living here in Boise we love our outdoor activities, but can be proud that we also have some of the best indoor activities available for adults, kids and for the whole family.

No matter what the weather is like here, (which can be strange), there is always something fun to do. From Ice Skating, indoor climbing walls, museums, escape rooms and so much more, you will always find something to satisfy your curiosity.

1. Idaho Ice World

Ice world is a wonderful place to take the whole family for ice skating year round, and is also one of the lower cost indoor activities . This facility provides full services, a skating gear store that offers rentals and repairs for all your ice skating needs.

This is the only place in Boise where you will see regular seasonal league and college hockey games. Ice world has two NHL regulation sized rinks for an authentic hockey game experience. They even have a great pizza place to get a bite after your fun day of skating. You are gonna love this fun indoor activity.

2. Urban Air

One of Boise’s premier indoor trampoline and adventure parks. This amazing place has plenty of indoor activities for both kids and adults. Its a unique, all inclusive experience for the the whole family.

They also offer a huge selection of party options for birthdays and any type of celebration. My son actually works here so we are here quite often (smiley face).

3. Boise Art Museum

We are very fortunate to have a healthy variety of museums here in Boise, one of my favorite of course is the Boise Art Museum. They have some really unique creative visual art experiences the whole family can enjoy.

Their vision around providing a holistic art education shows in their passion to drive art awareness in Boise. Their exhibits are always new, fresh and exciting and find myself there at least three to four times a year. Here’s to art!!

4. Discovery Center

It’s all about science and hands-on science education. This place was established and created by the Junior league of Boise who’s focus is on science education to create a fun family friendly place where everyone can learn something new.

You will find featured traveling exhibitions like King Tut, Dinosaurs and even the crazy world of Slime! Discovery Center paves the way for interactive learning for the aspiring technology, engineering and math aficionados in a fun and engaging way to learn.

5. Escape This

Boise’s premier escape room has been rated as one of the best indoor activities for the whole family. Its safe and provides a wonderful, inclusive learning experience that everyone will love.

These guys have over 1000 5-star reviews, and offer a variety of puzzles including a wizard’s final exam, a jungle adventure and a heist in the wild west. One thing is for sure, you wont leave here disappointed.

6. Fast Lane Indoor Kart Racing

One of the valleys only kart racing facilities provides an authentic racing experience. Karts are designed to be low and give the sensation of traveling at speeds of over 80mph. This is a great family fun place but look out, competition can be fierce (wink).

Everyone loves a good aquarium, Boise’s is no exception, we have some great exhibits that will amaze even the most discerning aquatic critics, kids and adults love this place. The aquarium has over 35,000 gallons and over 250 species of animals and marine life to observe.

They have season passes available and partner with schools and educational institutions. Their goal is learning and fun and you’ll have an opportunity to see and experience one of Boise’s great indoor activities.

8. Wahooz Family Fun Zone

Any kid and adult who loves to have fun knows about Wahooz! not only do they have a fantastic game play arcade, but their rides and activities will keep you busy for hours.

They have bowling, bumper cars, climbing walls, go carts and mini golf to name a few. And if you want a party, they have great deals on party rooms along with some great food and drink for everyone, enjoy and get lost in the moment, its really fun!!

Located in the middle of downtown, this place is for fun, learning and mindfulness eduction. You can find regularly scheduled art, yoga, meditation and creative classes on their constantly updated calendar, you pick what interests you.

The JUMP folks can create a customized program for you or your group that samples the best elements of the JUMP experience. They offer team building and networking for your to connect with what is important to you and your family.

10. ASANA Climbing Gym

If you climb or want to learn this is the best place in Boise to go. Firstly their facility is massive and the folks that work here are climbers and super supportive about climbing and love to work with beginners and experienced climbers.

They provide classes, coaching and even host parties for kids and adults who love or are interested in climbing. If you are a competitor, they have regular contests to satisfy the aspiring rock climber, not to mention this is a great workout! Enjoy!

Final Thoughts on Indoor Activities in Boise

There is so much to discover here in Boise and as a local I love that despite the sometimes crazy weather, I can always find great indoor activities to keep me and my kids busy.
